Mammoth Lakes Housing, Inc. manages the local ownership land trust in the Town of Mammoth Lakes. Our land trust model utilizes a Use and Resale Agreement (“the Agreement”) between the buyer and MLH to keep the home affordable as a community asset in the long-term. You can find a sample of the Agreement in the left hand sidebar on this page, under Program Guidelines.
Among other things, the Agreement regulates the maximum resale value to a below market rate, thereby providing locals with another avenue to home ownership. A home buyer may not be able to afford a fair market rate home; however, a below-market land trust home provides another option which may be more affordable.
